Health and Media course taught in Portuguese
On Friday 28, October - 22 more media professionals completed the Health and Media in-country course - with one twist: the course was conducted entirely in Portuguese.

Colin Lloyd, the course's usual principal trainer, took a back seat and handed over the reigns to Alfredo Libombo, the Mozambique head of the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA).

Using a translated version of the Participant's Manual and following the same format as the English language version of the course, the participant's presented their ideas for health programmes on Friday.

This, after completing the course's activities including four field trips, one of which, included a visit to a remote village north of Maputo where participants had the chance to meet with a local traditional healer and question him over his treatment for HIV+ patients (pictured top left).

This was the first time the Health and Media course was presented in another language and judging by the positive feedback from the participants, it may be not be the last.

The course was opened by the Vice Minister for Health.
