It will explore the role of the media with regard to various worldwide concerns.
International Center for Journalism -- Media Training This section of the Web site features an extensive list of training opportunities for international and U.S. journalists including science and health-related workshops. IJNet's Training Materials Library is an electronic source for journalism tip sheets and resources for professional development.
Internews Internews' programs train journalists to improve their reporting skills on topics such as HIV/AIDS in Asia.
International Journalism & Media Management Program Western Kentucky University and Internews run intensive, three-week journalism program and two-week media management programs to train journalists and media managers from emerging democracies. In addition to teaching conventional skills and practices, these seminars teach trainees about the convergence of media driven by the Internet and digital technologies. Graduates are given instructional materials to use back in their home countries. These materials, which will be translated into the local languages of participants, include Internews training manuals that have been used around the world.
Kaiser Family Foundation International Health Journalism Fellowship Project This project is part of the Foundation's continuing commitment to work with journalists interested in reporting on public health issues. Beginning in 2004, a series of projects and events have been launched in Africa, India, Russia and Ukraine. This page also lists past journalism training events.
Kaiser Media Fellowship Health Site Visits The Foundation conducts site visits for U.S. and developing country journalists on HIV/AIDs and other international health topics. Site visits have included trips to Brazil, South Africa, Zambia and Canada. Please note that site visits are by invitation only.
Knight New Media Center The Knight New Media Center provides fellowships for journalists from print and broadcast media seeking multimedia training to make the transition to New Media journalism. The center also provides fellowships for multimedia and online journalists already involved with New Media outlets.
Medicine in the Media Offered by NIH's Office of Medical Applications of Research, this annual training course aims to develop journalists' ability to evaluate and report on medical research.
NewsU NewsU is a project of the Poynter Institute and the Knight Foundation and offers innovative online training for journalists through self-directed modules, e-seminars and faculty-led courses. Tightly focused courses appeal to print, broadcast and online journalists.
