African Press Network
RAP 21 is an electronic network for the African press, serving as a platform for the exchange of information ideas, and a forum for discussion among newspaper executives and editors, journalists and other media practitioners across the continent.

African Women’s Media Center
AWMC programs provide African women journalists with opportunities for networking, training and support.  The center also operates the Maisha Yetu campaign, which aims to enhance the quality and consistency of media coverage about HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in Africa with responsible, accurate and relevant media messages.

AIDS Media Center
The AIDS Media Center (AMC) is a targeted resource portal for media professionals covering the global issues of AIDS.

American Press Institute
API is the oldest and largest U.S. center devoted solely to training and professional development for the news industry and journalism educators.  This site includes a Journalist Toolbox and Global Reporting Tools.

Asia Media Forum
The Asia Media Forum Web site is a newly established space for journalists to share insights on issues related to the media and their profession, as well as stories, information and opinions on democracy, development and human rights in Asia.

Association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ)
AHCR’s mission is to improve the quality, accuracy and visibility of health care reporting, writing and editing.

Cable Positive
Cable Positive mobilizes the talents, resources, access and influence of the cable and telecommunications industry to raise HIV/AIDS awareness; supports HIV/AIDS education, prevention and care; and strives to end stigma by creating a more compassionate climate for people whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS.

Connect-World
Promoting coverage of global development. Regularly posts health news stories. Provides background information on health issues. Also provides a fortnightly news bulletin for journalists. In addition, we provide a number of other resources for journalists interested in international development.

FACSNET
The mission of FACS is to improve the quality of information reaching the public through the news.  This site includes a glossary and a guide to statistics and data analyses in the Epidemiology for Journalistssection.

Global Reproductive Health Forum
The Global Reproductive Health Forum @ Harvard (GRHF) is an Internet networking project that aims to encourage the proliferation of critical discussions about reproductive health and gender. GRHF provides interactive electronic forums, global discussions, distributes reproductive health and rights materials from a variety of perspectives and maintains an extensive, up-to-date research library.

Health Journalists’ Window
This section of the Communication Initiative Web site provides specific support to journalists addressing development issues, including a database of 200 developing country newspapers that lets journalists see how their peers are reporting on issues such as HIV/AIDS and malaria.

Independent Journalism Foundation
IJF is a non-for-profit organization committed to promoting free and independent media in Eastern and Central Europe. IJF's three regional Centers for Independent Journalism offer training and institutional support to professional journalists and students through programs designed to serve local needs in Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.

International Center for Journalists
The International Center for Journalists is dedicated to improving the quality of journalism worldwide, particularly in countries with little or no tradition of an independent press.

International Federation of Journalists
IFJ promotes international action to defend press freedom and social justice through strong, free and independent trade unions of journalists.

International Journalists' Network (IJNet)
IJNet is an online service for journalists, media managers, media assistance professionals, journalism trainers and educators and anyone else with an interest in the state of the media around the world .

International Women's Media Foundation
The IWMF aims to strengthen the role of women in the news media around the world, based on the belief that no press is truly free unless women share an equal voice. The IWMF online training center offers comprehensive training courses designed to help journalists manage their careers and develop their professional capabilities.

Internews Network
Internews works to improve access to information for people worldwide by fostering independent media and promoting open communications policies. The organization also offers media training programs.

Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE)
IRE was formed in 1975 to create a forum in which journalists throughout the world could help each other by sharing story ideas, newsgathering techniques and news sources. The website includes a resource center and links to training materials.

Integrated Regional Information Networks
IRIN -- part of the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs -- aims to strengthen universal access to timely, strategic and non-partisan information to enhance the capacity of the humanitarian community to understand, respond to and avert emergencies. 

Journ-AIDS
Journ-AIDS is aimed at stimulating more in-depth and analytical reporting on HIV/AIDS in South Africa. A major focus of the Journ-AIDS program is to develop resources to inform media reporting on HIV/AIDS.

Journalists for Human Rights
The advocacy group aims to build the capacity of the African media to report on humans rights abuses in an effort to combat human rights abuses.

Kaiser Family Foundation
Kaiser Family Foundation sponsors opportunities for both U.S. and International journalists interested in health reporting.

Open Society Institute
OSI and the network implement a range of initiatives that aim to promote open societies by shaping government policy and supporting education, media, public health, and human and women's rights, as well as social, legal and economic reform. The website includes information on grants, fellowships and scholarships.

PlanetWire
PlanetWire is a newsroom for journalists who want the latest information about reproductive health rights and services, maternal and child health, equality in education, women's empowerment, youth participation and a healthy environment. Includes a special section for writers covering HIV/AIDS.

PANOS
PANOS works to ensure that the perspectives of the people whose lives are most affected by development are included within decision-making and that decisions are subject to their scrutiny and debate. Priority issues include media and communications, globalization, HIV/AIDS, environment and conflict.

Pathfinder International
Pathfinder International works to improve the reproductive health of women, men, and adolescents throughout the developing world.

Poynter Institute
The Poynter Institute is a school for journalists, future journalists and teachers of journalists.

RED SALUD
RED SALUD is a Web-based network of Latin American health journalists, with 600 members from 29 countries. The network allows a sustained dialogue aimed at improving health reporting through informal peer exchanges and professionally moderated discussions.

Reuters Foundation
This foundation was created in 1982 to support journalists from developing countries.

Science and Development Network (SciDev.Net)
SciDev.Net endeavors to provide reliable and authoritative information on science- and technology-related issues that impact the economic and social development of developing countries.

South Africa National Editors Forum (SANEF)
SANEF’s aims to enable a culture of real debate, attract editors and involve regions, promote good journalism (training, corrective action, ethics and synergy), continue with successful projects, eg. media freedom legislation.

South Asian Journalists Association
The association is a professional networking group for journalists that fosters ties among South Asian journalists in North America and works to improve standards of journalistic coverage of South Asia and South Asian America.

Thomson Foundation
